The course provides in-depth coverage of: NACE is recognized as an Authorized Provider of Continuing Education Units by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
This 3-day short course includes a practical lab at a coatings facility, hands-on training, team exercises, and both the written and practical exams.
Certification Awarded Upon successful completion of the course and exams, the student will be recognized as a NACE Certified Coating Inspector – Level 1.
For learners who do not meet the two criteria above, a retake of the course and the related learning assessments will be required, in order to receive a Certificate of Completion with CEUs and “Successfully Complete” the NACE course.

Certification(s): The Marine Coating Technology Course covers the fundamental issues that are specific to coatings in the marine industry.
After a description of the most common types of ships, the course describes the corrosion types affecting the ships’ areas, the types of coatings and linings that are effective in the marine environment, the shipbuilding process, the surface preparation, application and inspection techniques, the IMO PSPC for Ballast Tanks, Cargo Tanks and Voids, as well as in-service survey and inspection, inspection records and procedures.
Classroom instruction is comprised of lectures, discussions, group exercises and hands-on practical labs that teach the student how to perform basic inspection tests.
In order for a learner to “Successfully Complete” a NACE course and thereby receive a Certificate of Completion and CEUs, the following criteria learning assessment for the course with a score of 70% or higher Learning assessments include: a cumulative average quiz score and a practical exam..
